Roger Hooper's Wild World!
Acclaimed wildlife photographer Roger Hooper has once again captured a series of stunning new images of precious and endangered species for his annual exhibition in association with the WWF.
His 16-day free exhibition will be opened by WWF-UK chief executive David Nussbaumat at London's Oxo Gallery and is expected to be viewed by thousands of people.
Charging elephants, brawling lions and silverback gorillas are just some of the subjects featured in the exhibition which aims to highlight the work of the WWF throughout the world. Roger has included images of a tiger and leopard photographed in British wildlife sancturies as a warning that some animals will soon only be seen in captivity as their natural habitats are destroyed.
Genesis produced over 40 images for the exhibition, printed on our Lambda Print System on both gloss and metallic papers and finished them in a variety of ways from Perspex Face Mounting, mounting on Dibond with a gloss laminate and framing with Mirogard water white glass.
The free exhibition runs from 11th June until 27th June, 2010 at the gallery@oxo, Oxo Tower Wharf, Southbank, London, SE1. More information about the WWF campaign can be found on the Keep the World Wild website.

Zoobs at Opera Gallery!
Zoobs is a visual artist working within the realm of fashion, photography, design and art direction.
Having been discovered by Jean-David Malat, director of Opera Gallery London, the photographer continues to create breathtaking iconic images. He travels extensively and incorporates different cultures and their representations into his images. Zoobs is also the co-founder of Freedom From Sorrow platform for raising awareness and funds for worldwide charities aiding children’s welfare. Zoobs lives and works in London. The main body of work that is being showcased is a culmination of his photographic works produced during the past decade.
Genesis are proud to have helped Zoobs with his debut solo exhibition, producing 23 gloss Lambda Prints at 60”x40” and one at a massive 83”x40”, all stunningly finished with Perspex Face Mounting.
The exhibition runs from June 16th 2010 at Opera Gallery London, 134 New Bond Street, London, W1S 2TF.

The London Festival of Architecture
Genesis is supplying over 350 gloss laminated, A0 size Lambda Prints, mounted on 10mm Foamboard for the upcoming London Festival of Architecture's exhibition titled ‘50 Years of London Architecture 1960-2010’ organised by The Architecture Club at The Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1. The exhibition is open from 17th to 27th June.
The London Festival of Architecture will be a city-wide celebration of architecture in the capital. As London gears up for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, it looks at ways that planners, architects and local communities play their part in the development of 'The Welcoming City'.
The festival runs from 19th June to 4th July. Full details can be found on the website www.lfa2010.org.

Sophie Molins new exhibition!
‘The Impossibility of Escapism’
ArtSpace and the Rehabilitation for Addicted Prisoners Trust (RAPt) are delighted to present a new exhibition by award winning artist Sophie Molins.
Showcased in the beautiful atrium of architecturally renovated Westbourne Grove Church (where the homeless and disadvantaged are invited to take shelter), The Impossibility of Escapism explores the written and printed word. Comprising a series of provocative and abstract photographs, taken in some of London’s most notorious prisons and anonymous city spaces, Sophie Molins’ show also includes a collection of unusual found objects that utilise text.
Genesis produced a total of 23, 16"x12" Giclée prints and mounted them all on Spacer Frames specially for the exhibition.
Since 1999 Molins has worked with RAPt, a charity committed to helping people recover from substance misuse and addiction, photographing aspects of the remarkable rehabilitation program they run within prisons across the UK. Many of the images in the ‘Impossibility of Escapism’ depict the signs distributed throughout prisons in an effort to perpetuate a sense of order and conformity. Often unintentionally ironic, they serve to reinforce the blighted situation of the prisoners. For example one photograph, taken in a place where there is no privacy, displays the word ‘Private’ backwards, whilst another illustrates a stark memo explaining the rigorous ‘Procedure for Receiving Flowers’.
Sophie's exhibition runs from 24 February to 30 March 2010, at ArtSpace, Westbourne Grove Church, Westbourne Grove, London W11 2RW.

Genesis sponsor Shift exhibition!
Genesis sponsored a fantastic exhibition called Shift: Framing a city in constant motion – a group exhibition by four London based architectural photographers, looking at how their city moves.
Victoria Gibbs, Paul Grundy, Murray Scott and Martin Stewart explored the idea of moving through London in new work created specially for the exhibition. From the vast number of possible routes and methods of travel around the capital, each photographer took a small subset to explore in greater depth.
Genesis mounted all 33 images, up to 8' x 4' onto 5mm Foamex – a mounting board that is ideal for photographic exhibitions due to it's ultra light weight and rigidity.
Shift was an accumulation of nine months work and marked the first time these four photographers had exhibited together in central London. Not wanting the recent economic woes get the better of them, the four photographers took the brave step of committing to a self-funding exhibition.

Lorenzo Agius’ stunning exhibition!
Photographer Lorenzo Agius who has shot the likes of Tom Cruise, Madonna and Johnny Depp showcased a stunning photography exhibition portraying British fashion and beauty influencers at the charity event '30 Days of Fashion & Beauty Gala Party.'
Genesis have been working closely with Lorenzo to produce 30 large Giclée Prints, all 60"x40" or over and mounted on fashionable Dibond, specially for the exhibition.
The previous year’s event boasted phenomenal success with stars such as Paul McCartney, Stella McCartney and Kate Hudson gracing the red carpets, all eager to show their support. The Gala Party raised an astonishing £42,500 for MacMillan Cancer Support and was voted Party of the Year by Mediaweek.

Genesis sponsor British Wildlife Photography Awards
Genesis Imaging are proud to announce sponsorship of a brand new international photography competition, the prestigious British Wildlife Photography Awards. The awards celebrate and recognise the talents of photographers of all nationalities practicing in the UK, while at the same time, highlighting the great wealth and diversity of the natural history of the United Kingdom.
With a prize fund of up to £15,000 and the overall winner receiving a cash prize of £5,000, the images receiving judges’ commendations will form part of a series of nationwide exhibitions, including a premier launch and awards event. The exhibition launched at Hoopers Gallery, London from 24th September 2009 and will tour several locations around the UK. The British Wildlife Photography Awards aim to set the standard for photography of UK wildlife, for many years to come.
Genesis will be producing beautiful archival quality Giclée Prints of the winning images and commended entries, printed on their latest 64"wide Epson Stylus Pro 11880 printer onto Fuji inkjet paper. We will also be providing mounting and framing services for BWPA nationwide exhibitions.

Rhubarb Rhubarb Bursary winners on show at Wolverhampton Art Gallery
Genesis' Creative Director, Mark Foxwell, was one of the panel of judges for the ‘Hungry’ bursary organised by Rhubarb-Rhubarb, the Birmingham based photography training development agency. Mark was appointed for his expert creative knowledge of fine arts and fine arts printing.
The ‘Hungry’ bursary was created to award emerging, mid career and established photographers with a chance to exhibit their chosen work (with Giclee prints and Lambda prints produced by Genesis Imaging,) a free place at Cultivate or the Rhubarb International Review, and a free place to the Rhubarb International Portfolio promenade. And naturally Genesis provided mounting and framing for the exhibition display at Wolverhampton Art Gallery.
The opportunities brought about by this project and supported by the Arts Council England, aim to promote photographers internationally and help continue to develop new work and projects.
The exhibition, curated by Kate Pryor-Williams, ran from 27th June to 29th August at Wolverhampton Art Gallery. The final selection of photographers can be found at the Rhubarb Rhubarb website.

David Anthony Hall’s Solo Exhibition
Landscape artist David Anthony Hall has teamed up with Genesis Imaging, a group of vendors and suppliers on a charitable work that will be premiered at his first West End solo exhibition. The centre-piece of the exhibition, titled ‘Autumn Light,’ is an enormous 1.5 metre by 2.7 metre long ‘artist’s proof’ face mounted on Acrylic by Genesis Imaging.
“Genesis Imaging were the only company in the UK who could Perspex Face Mount an image this large. I contacted almost every finisher here in London and nationally and no-one other than Genesis were prepared to attempt such a big job. All my photographs in the show are archival prints mounted in acrylic block in sizes up to 3 meters long and I exclusively use Ken and his team at Genesis Imaging simply because their finishing and service are second to none.”
‘Autumn Light,’ Hall’s largest work to date, hints at the direction in which David would like his work to develop in the future. ‘Autumn Light’ is dedicated in the memory of David's natural father, Antonio Senezio, who died of cancer in 2007. The proceeds from the sale of this piece will be donated to Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Support and East Wing St Bart’s Cancer ward.
David Anthony Hall is a landscape artist who uses a particular panoramic photographic technique to open up a wide space for his audience to explore. There is a suggestion of escapism as well as exploration in David’s work, as if he is creating a window for the viewer and inviting them to climb through. His enveloping vistas often lie somewhere between fantasy and reality; an artistic alchemist, David is able to transform the mundane into the magical and help us look and think about the world in a new way.
His committed and methodical approach to producing his photographs means that he often spends months on each image, revisiting a specific place in order to capture a particular light or atmosphere; he would rather wait another year to re-shoot a location than exhibit an image that he feels is unfinished. He has been exhibited widely and his work is held in numerous private collections in seven countries.
David's exhibition ran from 1st to 14th June 2009 as a solo exhibition and from then until 31st June 2009 as a group show at Thompson’s Gallery in Marylebone, London. More of David's work can be seen on his website.

Perspex Face Mounting (also known as Reverse Face Mounting and Acrylic Face Mounting) is the process of mounting a photographic print between a sheet of Perspex and a Aluminium or Dibond backing sheet. In this way the image is not only protected against dirt, scratching and premature aging but it can also achieve a floating, three dimensional quality unobtainable by any other process and is one of the most impressive ways of presenting a modern and striking photographic image.

Obama's People by Nadav Kander
Genesis Imaging produced 53 extra large Giclée prints for a stunning exhibition at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery titled “Obama’s People” by Nadav Kander.
To celebrate President Obama’s inauguration, the New York Times teamed up with Nadav Kander to photograph the administration of Barack Obama as it was being assembled. 53 photos later, today’s leading figures of America have been captured in “Obama’s People.”
Nadav Kander is one of the most original and highly regarded photographers of our time, moving across advertising and fine art practices. Living and working in London he is a regular contributor to the New York Times, Rolling Stone Magazine, Dazed and Confused and the Sunday Times Magazine to name but a few.

The Grand Tour by Gayle Chong Kwan
“The Grand Tour” is a two-year project in which Gayle Chong Kwan has developed new work to reference, celebrate and critique “The Grand Tour,” and its relationship to contemporary tourism, master planning, waste and landscape traditions within fine art. They are showing in a series of exhibitions throughout the UK and internationaly; at mac, Birmingham; Arts Co, London; Artsway, New Forest, Hampshire and Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto, Biella, Italy.
Genesis Imaging have been working closely with Gayle to produce a range of both Giclée prints and Lambda prints up to 60" x 82" in size for her exhibition. And naturally we provided photographic mounting and framing services for her as well.
Gayle Chong Kwan is a London-based artist, working with large-format photography, video, sound, installation and performance. Her work is often context specific or involves people in rituals of exchange, such as food or trade, to explore ideas of history, the senses and memory. The personal and global politics of food and tourism have been a major focus of Chong Kwan’s work to date.
Part Four of The Grand Tour – “Terroir and the Pathetic Fallacy” is a large-scale installation inspired by ArtSway gallery's rural location, incorporating sculpture, photography and sound work, of an imaginary tourist resort which plays upon pagan myths and weather elements, made out of inert edible vegetables. ‘Terroir’ is an imaginary and all-encompassing tourist resort, populated by people whose real character is disguised through vegetable outfits and masks. The installation features large-format photographic images of the resort accompanied by portraits of the characters that inhabit this themed resort.

Peter Fraser's Oxford Residency
Acclaimed artist and photographer Peter Fraser was invited to take up an artist’s residency at Oxford University as a result of a collaboration between the Ruskin School of Drawing, the Biochemistry Department and Artpoint, Oxford, an arts consultative body.
Peter was charged with making new work over two and a half years, in the midst of two adjacent Biochemistry Department buildings being demolished, and a landmark new Biochemistry building, designed by Hawkins Brown, London, being built on that footprint.
The first building (of two) has now been completed and Oxford University has recently purchased works from Fraser for permanent installation in the new building. Genesis Imaging worked closely with Peter to produce a massive Diptych at 3m x 7.2m and six works at 1.2m x 1.5m. The Diptych pictured above, was printed in 6 sections using our Lambda printer, then mounted onto Dibond with MDF backing and finished with a gloss seal.

Lisa Tomasetti Exhibition
Genesis Imaging have worked closely with Lisa Tomasetti – a internationally acclaimed Australian visual artist and film stills photographer to produce her first exhibition in the UK called “Burnt Memory.” We printed 21 giant Giclée prints of her stunning images, then mounted and framed them for her exhibition at London's Hoopers Gallery.
Her new work examines the representation of women and children in the history of art, but also challenges assumptions about class and race. Referencing Old Master paintings, Tomasetti uses indigenous women and children from different cultures to replace the traditional ‘white middle-class’ sitter of previous centuries. The sitters, carefully selected by the artist for their ‘stillness’, are placed in large, empty spaces evoking the repressive effects of a colonial past and creating haunting portraits which tackle issues of displacement and colonialisation.
Dramatically lit and rich in colour, the large-scale photographs have a beautiful, painterly style reminiscent of the work of Caravaggio and Vermeer and are perfect material to emphasize the brilliant colour, sharp definition and eye-catching visual quality of our Giclée printing process.

Richard Bryant Exhibition
Genesis Imaging are proud to have been involved in helping the UK’s leading architectural photographer Richard Bryant put together a collection of his images for an exhibition at Somerset House.
We produced stunning extra large Lambda prints (up to 3 metres by 1 metre), Perspex Face Mounted the prints with a Dibond backing mount and even installed the complete exhibition.
The photographic series captured over the past 24 months follow Richard's personal account of the city of London, picking out views, open spaces and closely observed architectural detail from the West’s coveted, leafy suburbs to the fast changing East with its building sites, vast glassy structures and brown-field expanses. It includes images of structures by the world’s most famous architects as well as little known views of London that force the viewer to reassess what they thought they knew about the city.
The exhibition marks the publication of Richard Bryant's London, a landmark photographic book by Rizzoli, which will be available to buy at Somerset House and also through amazon.co.uk.

We are proud to have helped world renowned environmental photographer Roger Hooper produce his own photographic exhibition entitled “Endangered Wildlife Exposed” at the famous Oxo Gallery in London. The beautiful and moving photographic exhibition showcased Roger Hooper's stunning photographs of endangered species that are in need of our support if they are to be saved from extinction.
